Decorating in Clifford
Our decorators work across Clifford (LS23), from the High Street, the lane up to St Edward's and the cottages on the Boston Spa side outwards. Many homes in villages like this are in conservation areas or listed, so outside work needs to respect the character of the street. We can use traditional colours and breathable finishes that suit the building.
Older stone houses here were built with lime mortar and plaster that need to breathe. We check what the walls are made of before choosing a paint, because the wrong finish can trap moisture and cause damp.
Before anything is booked, we come and see the house, talk about the finish you want and put everything in writing so there are no surprises. Rooms are protected before any preparation starts, and left tidy at the end of each day.

FAQs
Decorating in Clifford: questions
What paint should I use on an old stone cottage?
Usually a breathable finish such as limewash, mineral or clay paint, so moisture can escape through the walls. We check the walls before recommending a product.

Yes. We work throughout Clifford and the neighbouring areas, including Boston Spa, Bramham and Thorp Arch.
